Seniors Trek in Las Cruces
 O ver
seventy seniors from all over the Southern part of the state treked to Las
Cruces on February 5th. Truth or Consequences, Lordsburg, Tularosa, Roswell,
Mesilla Valley and local folks from Las Cruces enjoyed 11 great Workshops.
Podiatrist Dr. Deetz spoke on common foot problems. Dr. Manrique, DOM, discussed
ancient and modern therapies for longevity and good health. Ernest Espadal,
Physical Therapist Dr. June Decker, Diabetes specialist Princess Lopez, RN
Sunnie Bell, Gun Experts Beverly Moss and Bob Messner all turned out to support
health awareness for the seniors.
A special hearing screening was provided by the NMSU Speech and
Hearing Dept., free to all. The expert advice on Medicare from Buffie Saavedra
of the State Agency, Nutrition Consultant Janet Sands and the NMSO business
meeting brought the event to a close.
We wish to thank our hostesses at the Munson Center. They went
out of their way to ensure a well organized facility with yummy food. It was a
great Trek event.
